The four functions of management are:

  • Planning: Directors think about their actions in advance, usually based on a method, plan, or logic.

  • Organizing: Directors coordinate the human and material resources of the organization.

  • Leading: Directors motivate and direct subordinates.

  • Controlling: Directors ensure that there is no deviation from the plan or norms

Avoiding the public sharing of personal information is critical for protecting your safety, privacy, and finances in an increasingly connected world. Oversharing, even seemingly harmless details, can be exploited by malicious actors through methods like identity theft, financial fraud, stalking, and cyberbullying.

Key Reasons to Avoid Public Sharing

  • Identity Theft and Financial Fraud: Cybercriminals can collect small pieces of information (like your name, birth date, and location) from different sources and piece them together to steal your identity, open accounts, apply for loans, or access your bank accounts.

  • Physical Safety Risks: Sharing real-time location, travel plans, or your home address can alert burglars that your house is empty or help stalkers track your movements and daily routines, leading to potential physical harm.

  • Hacking and Account Takeovers: Personal details are often used for security questions (e.g., "What was the name of your first pet?" or "Where did you go to high school?") or as a basis for guessing passwords. Sharing these makes your accounts more vulnerable to hacking.

  • Phishing Attacks: Information about your life events (new job, recent purchase) can be used to craft convincing, personalized scam messages (phishing) that trick you into revealing even more sensitive information, such as login credentials or credit card details.

  • Reputational Damage: Posts and comments, even if intended for a small audience, can become public and harm your personal and professional reputation, potentially affecting job opportunities or personal relationships.

  • Cyberbullying and Harassment: Personal details can be used by bullies or trolls to target, harass, or embarrass you or your family members
